Stahllog has reached a historic milestone by being recognized for the second time in a row as a safe supplier. The achievement was thanks to a joint effort between employees and leadership. It is worth mentioning that StahlLog is also the winner of the insurance provider pilot project.
“We are all a team, with one goal: zero accidents. Today we are celebrating these teams, within our team, that are champions. Congratulations to all of you” said Ternium Brasil's Vice President of Operations, Titus Schaar.
"We always try to bring the experience of all our units and put it into practice here within Ternium", said Pedro Arthur, Stahllog's Chief Operating Officer. "This award makes us proud and also drives us to constantly improve our Security Policy" said Valber Lessa, Operational Manager at StahlLog.
Thanks to the criteria of safe supplier program, Stahllog improved its work safety management, and as a result, on July 16, 2022, acheived the mark of 851 days without accidents that resulted in an employee having to take time off. A feat that was celebrated with the whole team.
“The risks are many and they are all mapped. They are discussed frequently with employees so they can maintain awareness that security is a value and not just a concept. This is a daily challenge for the company and it is very important that this milestone is not considered a finish line. We all need to keep pace,” said Cassio Keyne, StahlLog's Operational Coordinator.
Cássio also highlighted the importance of participating in the Ternium Brasil Secure Supplier program: “Participation in the program was fundamental, as it improved some safety criteria, in addition to those that are already required in formal certifications. Today we have several actions that encourage employees to register deviations in operational areas, in addition to recognition for employees who excel in safety actions through the Safety Monitor program”.
For Ronaldo Júnior, manager of Stahllog's contract with Ternium Brasil, the company's milestone is a consequence of the construction of a change in culture: "Beyond the numbers, these 851 days without accidents show that the employee must want to change his safety culture , regardless of hierarchical barriers. We are all leaders in our safety and when we have an engaged team, there are many possibilities for improvement”.
According to André Lima, Occupational Safety Coordinator at Ternium Brasil, since the beginning of the program, Stahllog has been recognized for applying good safety management practices: “The mark achieved is the result of this good safety management. May this moment of celebration serve as fuel for the Stahllog team to continue together with Ternium Brasil, strengthening safety as a value in our operations”, he concluded.
